MAYBE THE BETTER AI EDITING WORKFLOW ISN'T: "GENERATE MY ENTIRE VIDEO." It's: "Handle the annoying parts, then let me edit." For this discount ad, I gave GPT-6 Astra the requirements for the subtitle effects. I wanted the discount information emphasized, countdown-style motion, and emojis that matched the content. Instead of manually building all those text elements, Astra generated an SRT file. I imported it into CapCut PC. Now the AI-generated subtitle structure is in my timeline, but the creative control is still mine. I can make the text larger. Move it to a better position. Change the colors. Adjust the final look around the actual footage. That combination makes much more sense to me than a black-box "one prompt → finished video" workflow. Astra gets the structure started. HONESTLY, THIS IS HOW I WANT AI VIDEO TOOLS TO WORK TOGETHER. Not one model trying to do everything. One stage understands the space. One stage turns the scene into video. Then the creator gets to shape the result. GPT-6 Astra handles the spatial planning, including the 3D environment and Viewport-based camera + character paths. I manually bring that scene into CapCut PC, use Seedance 2.5 for the render, then keep working on the footage in CapCut PC. That last part matters. Because a generated clip isn't necessarily a finished video. The more interesting future might be AI helping across the entire filmmaking pipeline while the creator still decides what the final piece should be. There's a big difference between generating a cinematic shot and making a movie. Seedance 2.5 is now available on CapCut, and Seedance 2.5 1080p is now available. Once the scenes are generated, the real work begins. Import the shots into CapCut PC, organize the story, refine individual moments, extend scenes with AI Extend, and use Edit Pilot when you need to modify multiple clips. Then, add dialogue, music, sound effects, subtitles, and voice-overs along the multi-track timeline. Generation creates the ingredients. 1080P RESOLUTION IS EXCELLENT. But for a sharper AI video, you still need an editor. Seedance 2.5 is now available on CapCut, and Seedance 2.5 1080p is available for download. What I like about CapCut PC's workflow is that the generated storyboard can be integrated directly into the timeline. From there, you can fix a detail without having to rebuild the entire clip, extend a scene when the story requires it, use Edit Pilot for repetitive changes, and finally, finish subtitles, audio, color grading, and formatting all in the same project. I think AI commercial creation is moving from “generate something cool” to “build something with direction.” GPT Image 2.5 is coming to CapCut, where it will be available through Design Studio and AI Image.
